Hello Everyone.

Hope that things are well.

I am in need of some cdr's and wanted to see what everyone is using these days. The price range is so wide, so I was looking for the best and most cost effective option.

I have been using Ridata CDR for everything. In my area, they cost about $11CAD for 50 discs. Verbatium cost about $16CAD for 50 discs. Sony cost about $19CAD for 50.

Aren't all CDR's pretty reliable these days? However, I'm sure that some must be more reliable and universal. As such, I was just wondering what ppl were using - especially for playing music in my car CD player (yes..not an mp3 player...I know I'm old school) and for archiving pictures/stuff.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

My answer is the same as always, if you want nothing but the best then go with Taiyo Yuden. With a well proven track record they are tough to beat. I don't use any other sort of optical media these days (barring Verbatim for D/L DVD+R).

I been having some bad luck with Ritek G04's. I always read about Taiyo Yuden but never tried them. Probably because my store of choice NewEgg.com doesn't carry them. Where would you recommend a place to buy them at a good price?

The original post was about CD-R media but my post applies to both. Anyways, www.rima.com wins hands down for unbranded TY at good prices. Take a look at www.reselleratings.com. They are every bit as good as newegg for customer service, shipping, ect. Ordered from them many a time and had nothing but great luck.

I usually use what's on sale (at the stores) and haven't hardly had any problems at all........ a problem maybe once that I recall..... :)

To each their own, I have had rotten luck with Prodisc made CD-Rs. They work great at first but give them a couple of years and they are virtually worthless.
