Been looking for some time on plasma tvs. 42inch around £1000 - £2000.

Have seen many brands with many different stats but dont know what half of them mean.

Main points on Plasma screens are:-
HD ready
Resolution:852 X 480
Contrast:4000:1

I know about HD so thats fine but is the resolution on a scart/tv picture or just for the pc connection?
What is the contrast ment to be as i have seen exspensive tvs with 600:1 and with 10000:1? What is the best high or low contrast?

I am not worried about getting a tuner as i have sky to send picture but wanted to find out if the plasma screens that can show 2 screens at the same time are any good?
I know that you might not get a great picture when 2 items are showing on the screen at the same time but will that mean that when you are only watching 1 picture on full screen this will de grade the picture?

Thanks
