i just got my tv back after a repair with the on/off switch. to get a decent picture i have to set the contrast and brightness to its maximum lightness. should that be acceptable? the tv is about 7 months old so is under warranty but the on/off switch has been repaired twice, nothing to do with brightness i know, but can they turn round and say i have an acceptable picture even tho everything is on its maximum to do so. cheers for any advice

i just got it back after 6 weeks, i don't remember having to have everything set at maximum. it seems a 12 month guarantee is not as good as it sounds, if it breaks down in the first 3-4 weeks then you can get a replacement set, after that the manufacturer will repair rather than replace. i'll contact the shop on monday and see what they have to say this time.
tell them you use it as a monitor for a games system and the picture aint bright enough the brightness should not need to be on max unless the tube is low which is doubtfull if under a year old get them to take it back and repair it correctly

well tv broke down again last night, only had it for 3 days after it was repaired, so it'll hopefully be returned to the manufacturer this time while i hopefully get a refund.
