Some help/advice please

Ive had my Gamecube modded, viper chip and case. Problem is when I use my Action Replay cheat disk and come to disk swop with the game, it says open the lid, I do and nothing happens.

Does this mean that opening the lid on the Viper case doesnt do anything?, someone else must have had the same problem, any advice please?

Usual method is to flash the AR codes to the Viper chip.
