Hi guys just got the one from argos for 30quid

I dont have a scart on my tv so using two rf cables

I should have fine coverage in my area but when i plug everything in freeview box goes on, tv goes on, normal aerial reception goes thru tv but freeview box dosnt seem to be transmitting anything else aside from that thru to the tv...

Its definetly on and responding to the remote but not sending anything thru :(

My mate got one of these built in with his surround sound set and had a similar problem, dont know F all about it, but I'm sure he said something about an aeriel conversion, replacement or something along those lines.

Ill ring him in the morning and see.

Tune your TV to a Higher Chanel or try the AVI chanel...

So you are not getting a menu at all from the freeview box on your TV when you try and tune it into an RF channel?

When I worked away from home, I bought an Echostar T101 freeview box from Argos to use on my lil portable with no SCART and could I hell get the RF out going on it!! I am still convinced I was missing something obvious.

sigh yes i fear the the aerial replacement answer as im in rented apartment so theres no chance of that

i put the tuning through the whole spectrum and it didnt pick up the first time menu at any point :(

im not sure if its the 2 rf cables, the tv or the aerial :s ...or something else

i checked the av channel and nothing altho thats where it goes when u use scart as far as i know which is really annoying me as feckin tv really shud have one...

It seems only certain boxes have RF modulators on. I am rather surprised at that to be honest. Clearly the one I had never did, and the one you have doesn't either!!

Take it back to Argos - its prob excluded from the "no quibble" returns but just tell em its bust.

yeah it is excluded from the normal returns policy

i think ill buy myself a new tv and try the scart and if it still dosnt work either take great pleasure in smashing it or try and return it...

thanks for the feedback guys :)
