If you go into accounts and uncheck the remember password box, it should work, and if your running xp or 2000 setup user accounts.

If you use the user accounts in XP (assuming you use XP) then you can password each login, and keep the accounts seperate. I set up my bosses my like this and all his family have seperate logins and mail accounts, and cannot see each others.

If you go into accounts and uncheck the remember password boxThis will only prevent people from accessing / sending new mail - they will still be able to view everything which is in your inbox.
On Outlook 2002 you can password protect your pst which means that Outlook wont open at all without the correct password. To do this go to tools menu, options. Under the mail setup tab click "data files". Select your personal folder and click settings, you can set a password. Don't tick the remember password box!
Sorry I dont have 2003 but I expect the method to be similar.

I 'think' a pw protected pst file will not automatically stop access to the inbox thou. I think this is for specific folders, however I've never tried it for the main pst file (would be wary in case I mucked it up).
In any case, export your current pst file (file, import export), before trying any of this.

I 'think' a pw protected pst file will not automatically stop access to the inbox thou. It stops access to the entire program mate, a password has to be supplied before Outlook will run. I use this myself on my machine here at uni - I wouldn't want my boss finding out the things I say about her in my emails home :D
