Whats better: AMD Sempron or AMD Athlon XP

Im out of date when it comes to CPUs these days but it looks like the Sempron has a smaller catch than the amd XP. What would be wiser to upgrade to? I use programs like photoshop, adobe premier, Adobe Audition. Is the Sempron 64bit?.

AMD Athlon XP ...... without doubt.

I'm assuming you have a Socket A mobo and wont be upgrading the mobo ?

For example 2 gig atlon Xp would give better preformance than a 2 gig Sempron. If the Sempron is 64 bit then wouldnt that make it faster? This is the motherboard it would be going on I dont think it can support a 64 bit Sempron can it??

The 64 Bit Spermons will only fit Socket 754 mobos
The Athlon XP's will fit Socket A mobos (like the one you listed)

This XP CPU has a 512 L2 cache and is far superior to the the Spermon, which is a crippled XP.

If you consider changing the mobo, then I would still recommend the Atlon 64 over the Spermon64.
