if you are burning wave files, then there should be no gap (unless they were converted from MP3's). If you are using Nero to convert MP3's and burn as an audio CD, then this is the fault of how MP3's are designed and not the fault of burning software.
You have two choices
1. Convert mp3's to wave and mix and sepaprate the tracks using a wave editing program like Audacity or Audition then save to wave format or
2. Use the cross fading feature in Nero to bring the gap closer together.

when compiling a music cd to burn off firstly, click on the track you have added (start at track 2 ) as you cannot have no gap in track one, in nero, then properties of that track, then delete 2 sec gap then add 0 into same gap box, then apply and voilla!! no gap when you burn it off to cds!!
do this for all tracks on your cd you want to burn though ..
hope it helps m8..

Well as i said this does not work 100%, there is still a tiny gap/skip between tracks..............................:bawling:

Setting the gaps to 0sec would not completely eliminate the "silence" b/w tracks in many instances. You'll need to do the followings:
Enable the option "Cross fade with previous track" for each track (except the 1st track, of course) then set the crossfade initially to 3-5 frames (1 frame is about 0.0133sec). Burn the compilation to an image then mount it to Nero ImageDrive or other CD/DVD emulator software such as Alcohol 120% to test it. If you're not satisfied, go back and increase/decrease the time for crossfading till it sounds right to you. Finally, burn the image to a CDR.

You need better burnware that can round off the padding on the MP3s, thus eliminating the gap. Try Feurio!® (http://www.feurio.com/English/index.shtml).
MP3s are padded with additional sectors thus creating a pause. You need burnware that can round the track markers.
Also writing in the TAO (Track at Once) mode will insert a gap as the laser is paused between tracks. Make sure that your burnware is set to write in the DAO (Disc at Once) mode where the laser does not pause between tracks.
