if your friend is buying a new one it's highly unlikely that they'll be getting a 1.50 - more likely a 1.52 or 2.0 version. The charger that comes with the Jap models is a worldwide one that works perfectly here. You might want to use a standard "figure of 8" type UK power lead (like you get with many pc bits and pieces like printers etc) in place of the 2-prong lead that comes with it.

damn i was banking on getting a 1.50. What are my options, tell her not to get one? get one and wait for it to be cracked? wait and get a different psp later on..

well, if she does get you one, there's no absolute guarantee that you'll ever be able to play homebrew / downloaded isos etc on it as there is no downgrader as yet. Would you be prepared to risk "bricking" it as the current methods they're researching sound risky at present???
it'll certainly be a lot cheaper buying one in Japan if you don't mind waiting for the downgrader though - just make sure you're not amongst the first to try out the downgrade when it gets released (just in case lol)
the best option if money isn't an option is just to buy a 1.50 from Above Connection over at BST for £189 or hunt around on ebay as there are plenty of 1.50s there.....

Tell her to get one m8, I truely believe it's only a matter of time that the 2.0 1.5x PSPs will be hacked.
