Hey Folks

I'm quite behind the times when it comes to the XBox Mod scene, so please, bare with me with my outdated info...

I have a nonzero softmodded xbox.
This is the one where you input an audio cd and press a couple of buttons to get to the EvoX dash.

I want to unistall this, get a solderless chip and add a bigger HD.

But for the now, all i want to know is.

1 - How can i unistall the softmod safely?
2 - What do you recommend for the best Solderless mod?

I'd appreciate any help

That softmod is old enough, if you got the right auto installer package like Slayer's Auto Evox installer, It would re-write the modded files with normal ones. Just put the chip in and pop the auto-installer in and you will be fine.

I don't use solderless chips, but from word of mouth, the Xapter (Xecuter) is the best and the Xecuter 3 is the best chip you can get.

If you are not looking for so many options in a chip, practice soldering and install a duox2. They are cheap (11 to 15 bucks) and are very simple to install. And you can play on Live.

Or you could flash your tsop. If you have a 1.2 thru 1.5 xbox, all the soldering you have to do is two little blobs to bridge the write enable points. Very easy, I let my roomate do it onetime just to show him how easy it was.

I have Slayer 2.6

I'll see what i can do about getting a chip installed

Also one other thing, i've seen some nice modded Halo2 maps, that i would like to play with my fellow clan m8's....not to cheat!!!!...just for fun.

If the mod is turned off, can you still use the modded maps?

From experience i would use a solderless spiderchip v 1.1 only cost me about £ 30. 1 wire on boxes v 1.0 1.5. Which with that exploit yous would be. Pin it to your board take your hdd out , put a new one in, then boot with the chip turned on insert slayers 2.6 and hay presto follow the instruction. When all done you can either leave it or ftp in soft mod the box and take the chip out.
