For the past 2 weeks i have been trying to sort out a problem i am not having much luck.

Whenever i try to get into a page i get page cannot be displayed and Invalid syntax error in the title bar i also could not download files like java and other simple things because i was getting the message "your security settings do not allow you to download these type of files"

SP2
Security settings could not be changed
I am administrator
I was running Microsoftantispyware
I did a system rollback from 3 weeks before nothing changed
I have tried to repair Ie this did not work

I have downloaded firefox and this works fine
I am sure it's related to this update http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;834489
I am trying to digest it now.

Trying to get into google does not require me to put a password into the address bar.

Any help would be appreciated please.
