well my Girlfriend is getting me one for my birthday in Oct but obviously im not wanting to spend hundreds games,
I cant really get a US one for her and she gives me the money as its meant to be a suprise for me so i will have to settle for a UK one, is there gonna be any other differences? havnt really done much research. So you dont rekon the UK firmware will be cracked anytme soon?
The current loaded that is out - does that envolve a swop of a mem card or something? so games are usually on those small discs but the loader allows em to load of the mem card?
Thanks in advance for the info

No difference between the various region machines except for the firmware they come pre-loaded with which the Uk version will be 2.0 (Homebrew apps/emulators/backups only work with 1.0 and 1.5) and that the Japanese machines use the O button to confirm a selection and X to cancel (As oppossed to X to confirm and triangle to cancel as on UK and USA ps2's/PSP's)
And yes the loader doing the rounds allows you to load games directly off of the memory stick duo.

Got myself a PSP , will I need a UMD game or movie to also in order to boot the games ?

The iso loader does require you to have a UMD in the drive, I've got a game in there. I did ask if a moive UMD would do, but nobody could give me a definative answer so a game UMD it was for me.
Maybe the latest version of the iso loader doesn't require one, but I've not upgraded to it (0.7 I think) so I can't be 100% certain.

0.7 fastloader still requires a UMD, although you can actually boot the umd itself through the fastloader now. I'll try booting with a movie tomorrow and let you know for sure if it works or not.

Rumor Control 1.5x Downgrade
Aug 28 2005, 10:11 AM
Yoshihiro has now informed us he would like to tell the public that he has been able to downgrade 1.51 and 1.52 PsP's to 1.5. Yoshi has said that this will be released September 1st. The explination he has given us/public for not releasing it yet as it's still buggy and there is some risk of it bricking the PsP. Hopefully in the next 5 days all the bugs will be sorted, and we'll have a stable downgrader. So for all the frusterated 1.51 and 1.52 users, don't upgrade yet! The next week is definitly going to be interesting indeed..

I don't have any moive's here but I've got a couple of UMD movies. I'll try them out later and post back to end your suffering m8. ;)
