I'm new to DVD ripping, so i will be in need of some basic explaining...
I have a DVD that holds music videoclips. Would it be possible to rip only the audio so i can make an audio cd form them? What software would be most suitable for doing so?

Use DVD Decrypter, enable stream processing. Deselect all streams except the audio, which you should also set to demux.
Then use something like BeSweet to downmix, downsample and convert to wav.

I'm sure that there are easier ways than my way. Updated your status for you to.

My method is long, dull, and uncreative but I use M$ windows built in sound recorder. Play the video and record.
i use/d smartripper only ad 2 do it once and it seemed straight forward enough, open up your DVD with it. click on stream processing , then enable stream processing and select only the audio, then save to desired location
then use besweet to convert from vob to mp3/other

eventually i used Nero Recode. Ripped the dvd to several mp4 files and used neo to burn them to audio cd. Probably not the most straght method, and it takes a long time to rip but it works lovely. Created a cd with superb audio quality

I just got this program. It works pretty good. I've only used it like 2-3 times so I can't say that it's really good or it sucks just yet.
Plato DVD to MP3 Ripper
This will allow you to rip audio from a dvd straight to mp3 file.
You can select the time where you want to start ripping the audio and also select the time where you want it to stop.
