cant worrk this one out.

pc is really slow at booting up, takes a good few mins ans sometimes when watching a dvd or video clip online the pc restarts also just random a times?

any ideas? is a dl available to check the wholepc? ran defrag scandisk etc, cant repair windows as installed version is newr than on cd?

You could try this :

.... while you are logged on as an administrator:
1. Use the System File Checker tool to scan all of the protected files on your PC:

a. Click Start, then click Run.
b. Type sfc /scannow and then click OK.

Note that you may be prompted for the Windows XP or Windows XP Service Pack 1/2 Disk.

Restarting is usually heat related. Are the fans working right? What's the mainboard temp? Computers also can get slow when they are over heating, mine did.
