Hi
Looking to get a MP3 jukebox (creative nomad 30gb) - I live in UK & with the US exchage rate as good as it is at moment I thought maybe best to purchase from US. Good idea ? Will it work here? How does the import duty work & how do tax people know what is being sent to me via the post?
Views & ideas greatly appreciated.

read an article about this yesterday- you will expect to have to play about 20% in tax on an ipod if you get nabbed at customs but from the article they said it was still around £50 cheaper than over here.
if you are getting them to send it from the us via courier/mail 99% sure you will get stung.
charging may also be an issue- and dunno if ipod's have international warranties which are two factors which you need to weigh up

Ipod chargers are pretty interchangeable. Into the main head of the charger you can plug a normal figure of 8 type lead in even if you have a USA pod. No reason not to get a American one unless you are nervous about warranty issues and returning it to USA if it goes belly up.
