how do i enable registry edit in xp pro?

Start > Run > Regedit

the last thing i used was pestpatrol trial.

sorted it now.
just needed to run a reg tool to fix it.
if anyone has the same problem email me and i will send the file.

it a script file that is run.dont no how to upload it.

It was probably disabled in gpedit.msc and the script changed the value

go to Sart > Run then type gpedit.msc you should then get the policy editor a bit like poledit in previous M$ Vers

Then click on Administrative templates under User config and then click on the system folder, uinn the right hand window pane about 6-7 up from the bottom there is a 'prevent access to system registry editing tools' this needs to be set as unconfigured or disabled.

Now here is the hard bit, if your admin has disabled gpedit.msc (Which they can) then you cannot access the Group Policy in order to make changes, the only other way would be to connect the PC to another or Domain or hack into it as such
