Taskbar Item Removal?

I have an icon appear next to my clock and it says something about you are infected and when you click on it it tries to dial up to the net!!!I want to remove it but there is nothing in the add remove programs application is there anyway of getting rid of it??Thanks

You need to install some spyware and virus scanners and have them scan your system to completely remove it.


Alternatively, you can use MSCONFIG to at least stop it from running:

Click Start -> Run... -> type MSCONFIG

In MSCONFIG look at the Startup and Services tabs and see if that program is listed anywhere. Uncheck it.
