Hi Guys

have any of you used, or still use a program called, where is it? its basically an app for cataloguing dvds, mp3 discs etc.

the problem is that i now have loads of dvds and i brought a large metal case to store them all in as before i have 2 littler boxes but i wanna put them all in one big cd box. all i want to do is transfere all the data from my two catalogue files, (i have a catalogue for each box) and merge them into one large catalogue and renumber them as nessesary. is their anyway to do this in this program as i cant seem to find out how, and it will take me ages if i am to redo a totaly new catalogue and insert all discs in the drive and create an image for them all individually, all 500 lol!

Cheers 1k

Hi m8,

Depending on what format your present catalogues are in (ie excel, word...) it would possible be easier just to create a simple acces database.

If you are not to familiar with access i could give you a hand with it. Although IIRC one of the wizards within access is for controlling home media colections.

At least if you move it into access now, then it is a lot easier to manipulate the data & expand on it in the future.

First create a new catalog. Now right click on the catalog and choose Catalog Manager. In the right hand side, select the new catalog you just created from the drop down menu. In the left hand side, select your first calalog from the drop down menu and click the copy button. Now select the second catalog from the drop down menu and click the copy button. You now have both old catalogs in your newly created catalog.

Or create a new catalog. Then open up the other two catalogs and you can drag and drop from the old catalogs into the new one.
