Although will they get any cheaper? I understand the double sided ones are out soon

You may think twice after that, not saying all their stock has been these drives but obviously some are.

had a couple of oem drives from them that turned out to not pioneer..they swapped them with no problems. just check the firmware version if you get one.

How do you check the firmware version,I know it tells you in Nero info what version it is but does it tell you if its a genuine pioneer or not?

it'll list pioneer in the nero info - also the drive is listed as a 'd'...some of the dodgy ones are listed as 'rd'.
