Trying to format the hard drive and get rid of the hidden partition that the time computers have used, tried fdisk and it cant see it, partition magic can see it but cant merge it, I wondered if I got some low level formatting software from the maker of the hard drive if this would do the trick, low level format that is.
Any ideas anyone please?

wonder why fdisk cant see it? perhaps its an ntfs partiton. According to the time site it should be about 1Gb
low level format probably is the way forward
who is the hard drive manufactured by? make/ model?

if you're using an old floppy boot disk to 'fdisk', there is an updated fdisk.exe that enables you to see larger drives. if you are using a floppy, then you can check if you have the newer version, if during the fdisk startup it mentions ntfs drives.
