Microsoft Outlook keeps shutting down...Help!!!!

For no apparent reason everytime I open my Microsoft outlook to view mail, it appears to start then after a few seconds it imediately shuts down again!!
I am running Win XP and have no other programme running in the background. I have run a virus check with AVG and nothing was found.
Can anyone offer a solution to this please as I really need to access my e-mail soon.

Do you get any error messages m8?

Have you installed a virus proggie recently? Or any other sw? This caused problems with my outlook 2003 (i.e. norton spamguard interfered with the spam tool in outlook).

Check there are no addins added in, in the outlook options.
Run adaware (http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail.php3?fid=965718306)and spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) search and destroy, update them both as well.

You didn't say which version of Office you were using, but there was an issue a while back when Office 2000 installed with the CD Key begining with GC6J3 was automatically blacklisted when the SP1 was applied because Microsoft deemed the CD Key to be widely pirated. The workaround was to uninstall it and reinstall without the SP1 update.
