Hi have an xbox with matrix chip in and evox dashboard, one of the older dashboards as I have not needed to upgrade as of yet, I just purchased an hdtv and the hdtv pack for the xbox but am wondering do I just plug this in to the xbox then the tv and it will work, or do I need to change some settings within the xbos to get this to work?? Or just choose with the games??
I tried to go into the xbox dash but see nothing about video mode settings.
thanks for any help

Yep, just plug it in like normal. You shouldn't have to mess with the settings except for xbmc you may want to adjust that for screen size and stuff.

in the ms dash there is a setting to enable hdtv, 480i, 720, 1024.
if you dont see them then your lead is not hdtv compatable

nope- the hdtv selection is removed in PAL xboxes' xboxdash.xbe (maybe it is just as simple as getting an xboxdash.xbe from a us machine) because at the moment there aren't any real hdtv's in europe- though if the option were there- i'd defintely look into using my monitor (19" LG Flatron) to display the high def out put

Well I hooked up everything and there is no place I can go to change the video settings for my t.v. I first had the connections to my input for 1080i/480p and the screen was flickering so I had to change it to my 480i to be able to see the screen but it is not in high def and I wanted to run it into my hd inputs.
when I go into the ms dash setting on evox dash there is really nothing in there,
anyone know what elese to do???
thanks for any help

you need to goto the video setting in the msdash, where you set the time etc.

I'm pretty sure that the xbox automatically switches to high def mode when compatable. For instance on my hdtv the dash and most of the apps look normal, but when I go to xbmc the screen flashes and then the menu looks really weird its the same as regular except diff dimensions like the text is alot smaller since its more clear in hdtv mode. I just figured the xbox automatically switched the modes, kinda like if you change to pal mode in avalaunch it also changes the setting in the ms dash at the same time.
Also I'm not really sure, but it might matter what bios you are using. Cause I know that the cromwell bios doesn't support hdtv (I learned that the hard way) so maybe its possible that other older bios's might not support it? I doubt it, but I guess if one bios doesn't support it its possible that maybe other ones don't.
