Using Dell Inspiron 5160, with sony dw-d56a dvdrw dl drive. firmware is latest as far as i know PFS2. Just wondering does anybody know of any a1 media thats compatible in this drive. having alot of burn errors when try to decrypt them after burning. p.s. live in s.ireland so would use w**.mediawrite.ie (http://www.mediawrite.ie)
Any help greatly appreciated.

First and foremost we need to dispell the myth that you have a Sony burner. The Sony is a Sony in name only. They are in fact overpriced re-badged Lite-Ons at this point. So the best thing to do would be to find out what Lite-On model the D56a is as there are WAY more firmware update uptions available for it that are better than what Sony offers. Second, Lite-On burners by nature are fussy and seem to prefer +R to -R. If you can get ahold of some Ricoh DVD+R that would be my recommendation. First and foremost though, we do need to get you updated with a Lite-On firmware. I imagine that the 56a is the twin to the latest Lite-On model. Does it support D/L DVD-R burning?
