i know that when installing a 32b windows o/s it likes best a hd with no disk errors on it, an so wont install till its satisfied, so ya could check that part out.

also, a modern win o/s really dont like screwed pre-installations, it likes a pre-install to be either deleted or error-free, if its to be re-installed.

win98 is less fussy tho.

Try copying the i386 folder to the HDD and installing from there

If that doesn't help, try reseating the RAM and/or taking one stick out at a time and trying with one stick only in slot 1 (assuming there are 2 sticks). If only one try a different stick. I had a similar problem last year ... tried everything, like you and it turned out to be a bad ram stick ...... XP is obviously bigger & more choosy.

Is the DVD-ROM Drive on the same channel as the HDD ? ..... if so, try it on the Secondary channel and see if this helps.

Please do not blame me but since I have had a lot of troubles with motherboards before, I can't resist but to suggest you to check your motherboard since XP is picky as I had the same thing happened to me last time, if anyone recalled.

Why don't you try to re-format it without using the XP Disc but using the HDD disc? What is your HDD anyway?

I have tried to format it its formats fine its when it tries to copy any XP even tried Pro version and it still does the same.

Turns out to have been a pre-installed system and he lost the disk

Sometimes, formatting is not enough....did you zerofill the drive? It's possible that there are bad sectors on the hd that aren't spotted by win 98,but XP is more sensitive for them....

Update time :)

Its a Tiny pc does that make a difference ?

I borrowed a m8 pc it was also a Tiny pc swapped the HD to that machine and guess what it does the same even on that pc.

So i thought ahh dodgy HD.........I then decided to eliminate that by trying another HD in the Tiny pc i know for a fact the HD is 100% ok....Guess what same problem ?

Conclusion.....Could the Tiny pc have to be installed with a Tiny version of XP ?
