Hey guys, had a set of extras from Beverly hills cops i had on my hd, that i wanted to make a multi with the extras from BHC2, anyway tried remaking all the mtion menus with dvdlab and failed miserably- so just now tried putting the dvd video files in the VIDEO_TS folder, and put a couple of avi's in the AUDIO_TS folder.

Burned it in nero- no probs- played as dvd in the dvd player (panasonic RV31 & Xbox DVD player) fine, played the avi's in xbox media center and they played fine too- only annoying thing was nero default uses the ISO 1 character set and rules (8 character's + 3 charcters for file type) so i couldn't keep the full names for the avi files- does anyone know if its ok to use the ISO 2 character set and rules?

Just thought it may be useful to peeps who have/ use a divx player.

I know there isn't usually a time when there's enough available space to make use of when backing up a dvd but if you have 700mb then you could put in a couple of avi's, mp3's etc- although 8 chracters isn't much for song info.

I'm not saying it'll work on your player 100% but it worked on two players for me so you may want to give it a try

Thats a good idea if it works on all players, i'm not keen on filling the disk just for the sake of it but maybe just putting a bitmap or jpeg scan of the cover into the AUDIO_TS folder? (That way, i would never have to worry if cdcovers went down again!)

I may not be understanding what's going on here, but why are you putting them in the audio_ts folder? Just create a new directory on the dvd, or even put the in the root. It'll still play on standalones - check out the discs with the Interactual player on for example.

hmmm.... i tried that and it didn't seem to work- but you're right i've seen non xxx_ts folders on retail dvd's before.

I think it didn't work because i didn't replicate the dvd-video settings in Nero (e.g. UDF/ISO, ISO level 1 etc.)
