View Full Version : Another Big Hard Drive Barrier Issue 127gb Showing, 160gb True

Hi guys

installed xp finally on a new hdd, now its showing a 160 gig hdd as 127 gig, done some searching and it said use maxblast and the other one big hard drive enabler, but the BHDE doesnt work for me :(

it is a maxtor hard drive by the way

what can i do? to show the true 160 gig

Install at least servicepack 1a....

...or there are tools on the mufacturers websites. But service pack 1a+ is the better option ;)

When you installed XP, it created and formatted a 137gb partition, because SP1/SP2 wasn't present.
If you install SP1/SP2 now or run Big Hard Drive enabler, this in itself will not resize the 137gb partition. You will need to resize the partition.

service pack 1a+ is the better option ;)

Why SP1a? Whats wrong with SP1?

done sp1 so far, getting sp2 aswell atm

still has MS's attempt at Java in it, from what I remember. Yeah obviously you can just install S's version.

done sp1 so far, getting sp2 aswell atm You can install SP2 without installing SP1/1a first. :)
