Is it possible using DVD Shrink to just remove some of the extras but still keep a functional menu.
If not,can you recommend a free program that allows you to do this,preferably as easy to use as Shrink.

Nope. You need Instant Copy, or Elby's CloneDVD for that. Unfortunately neither is free. If you have Nero 6, you can use recode 2. Otherwise, title Set Blanker is free, and may serve your needs.

using dvdshrink
why dont you just turn the extras you dont want to keep into "Still Images" with no sound (minimal disc space taken)

this is what i do - works a treat too :)

Yep m8, DVDStripper is a great little proggy, runs alongside ifoedit and DVDdecrypter and the ouput is 100% dvd compliant.

dvd shrink works fine....simply use a higher compression,on the extras,delete the foreign langs...dont be scared to take the movie to level 6 or 7, results are still good

dvd stripper, title set blanker and vob set blanker all do the stream removal- titleset blanker is very very quick but can only blank full Video title sets (e.g. all of VTS_02_0x.vob)

Vobsetblanker is newer and can be found with a simple search on google and can handle multiple titles within a vob. Unfortuenately no video preview yet, but the title numbers match exactly with dvdshrink so you can preview a title in dvd shrink and blank it in with vobsetblanker.

For somereason I can't get the new dvd stripper to work- it only seems to want to access the optical drives- i dunno why

Or you can just use the dvd play option in ifoedit. play the dvd untill the movie starts then hit exit and it'll tell you what titlesets were played, then just delete the titlesets that didn't get played and click get vts sectors...
