I'm going to move this to the Consumers Opinion forum. However much depends upon exactly what your business needs are. How much drive space, bandwidth, ect?

I've registered a few domains with www.godaddy.com (http://www.godaddy.com). Never had a problem so far, except for someone who did as whois on my domain and phoned me early in the morning to talk about my site. Now i always include private registration. ;)
I've used www.viperhost.com (http://www.viperhost.com) and they have been good for me. Decent prices too. There are many more hosts out there that offer similar deals though.

Different hosing companies provide a various amount of 'data transfer per month', what is exactly meant by data transfer per month, and how important is it?
Much appreciated,

Data transfer is the amount of MB / GB that the total users download from your site. This is usually calculated per month.
For a page with some graphics, but not many downloads would only require a few GB's per month maximum, but if you host downloads, you'll need loads more...

Its going to be furniture selling website, so the website will contain quite a few images. The website will be a means to advertise the business more than to sell online.
Im guessing that around 100-200mb of space will be enough, however i am uncertain about how much data transfer will be required. Anybody want to take a guess and tell me what would be considered a reasonable amount of data transfer?
Oh and thanks for the replies, are there anymore suggestions for hosting companies and registration?
oh and its a uk business based in yorkshire...
Thanks for the replies again..

The best is Network Solutions because they are the original one. They do cost more. They are now offering 100 year regs too.
