View Full Version : Getting a PSU for a motherboard...

I was given an old pc with a few parts missing and I need to buy an ATX PSU for it now I'm now sure what I shoud get (250 - 300W) cause I cant find the specs for the motherboad, its an Intel SE440BX2, Does anyone know what I should get?? Or where I can get specs, Does it matter?

The BX will run ok on a 200W-PSU, but would be safe to say 300W or more in case you need to upgrade your board later.

You don't have to worry about "too much power", the components will only draw as much power as they need, the power rating is simply the maximum deliverable.

Also, if you will be running it constantly, and assing DVDRW etc then consider a better make such as Antec or Enermax, they cost about £40. Well worth an investment.
