Not sure you can do away with AOL software altogether, but a friend of mine, who has AOL, tells me this will work :
1. Wait for all AOL applications to load on windows do not open anything.
2. Right click the blue AOL icon in the taskbar next to the clock.
3.Start AOL Dialler.
4.And then enter your username and password and click sign on.
5.Open Internet Explorer
You will then be connected to AOL Broadband without the program.
This only works for AOL 9.0 I am told.
As I said this is secondhand information, but worth trying.
Let us know how you get on, as others may be interested in this too.
