TV sound through surround sound system????

I know you can't get TV audio through a 5.1 system in 5.1 surround sound, but 2.1 would do (or anything!)-----------i assume i have to connect my TV to the DVD player through the left /right jack sockets, but my DVD doesn't have them!

Any other way around it?
if it helps, i've got the TV, VCR, cable TV box, DVD and 5.1 amp in the system.

Nha dosent go though the dvd player m8. Get a set of phono leads (get some decentish ones) plus the leads from the back of the left and right phono sockets on the back of the cable box in to the back of amp (will have left and right phono sockets n there). You wont get 5.1 as u stated but you will get either Dolby Pro Logic or Dolby Prologic 2 which will still use ur rear and front speakers. Hope this helps
