right im not sure at all whats wrong with my printer, being trying for 2 days but no luck, anyway.....

whats happening is that its not printing any colours right

ie. anything blue prints out pink
does nto recognise black or yellow at all even though there new cartridges, shows up on the pc n printer lcd but just doesnt print em

when i print a nozzle check theres no black, cyan ot yellow on it at all just light cyan, magenta and light magenta which are all perfect tho

ive tried everything i can possibly think of but need 2 print some important documents out ASAP so id appreciate it if any1 has an idea what might be wrong?

ive replaced ink, done loads of head cleaning, which has wasted loads of ink as well, even treied just turning the printer on and off for a bit but now im completely stuck! :bawling:

Could be a dodgy set of cartridges you've picked up.
Are they compatibles or Epson ?

you sure you got them in the right order?
black-cyan-light cyan-magenta-light magenta-yellow is the order for r200 so i presume r300 is the same

yeah there in the right order definately cos it has little indicators above 2 show where they shud be and there compatibles but surely couldnt of had so many bad ones, replaced black and yellow both twice cos i lost that much during the head cleaning....

I have the epson r200 and use IMJET compatible cartridges, sometimes I have to take them out and put them back in again as the printer dont recognise them, all I can suggest is that there may be a blockage somewhere, read this it may help m8:

have you tried printing a couple of pictures or labels using 'best photo'? I've had the same or similiar problem with my own R300 a couple of times. The first time i reckon the original problem was with a faulty cart but, even when it was swapped, I was still left with the problems you described. I found that printing a couple of DVD covers using the best photo setting cleared it. The second time I think the problem originated with a particular cover, it really screwed the print settings. When i got it back to normal it messed up again after trying to print that same cover. Each time printing a couple of other covers @ best photo seemed to do the trick.

well just got off the phone to epson and the guy reckons that ive voided my warranty by using im-jet cartridges! GREAT! even tho i know other people who used em and still got there printers replaced plus the fact that there not even supposed to say that now as its the customers choice whether they use official or not

so basically ive got myself a nice 115 quid paperweight here and my parents arent gunna be to impressed

I haven't tried these myself, but for £2.99, it might be worth a try :

If you try them , post back and let us know how you get on.

Good Luck

I had this problem once. Never figured it out. I ended up formatting my pc some time later and when I tried to print a pic the printer worked perfectly. I have no idea what the problem was. I tried uninstalling the drivers and software that came with the printer and that didn't help. I tried different brands of ink as well and basically wasted my money.
