How can i add a title onto a svcd movie clip ?

I've got a small svcd movie clip that i would like to put a title onto so that when it plays it will have a title that i've chosen displayed for several seconds. I want it to run at the same time as the actual clip is being shown and not on a blank screen before the actual clip,if you know what i mean.

whats the easiest program to use for this ?

So you want to overlay some text over the video for the first few seconds?

Numerous ways to do it such as Adobe After Effects, AVISynth or just rendering using subs. You can do some nice text effects with ssa subs.
